Got a customer who wants to switch 10A in intervuls of . on for 20mins off for 5 mins on for 20 mins off for 5 mins etc.

would need to be able to change the times.

any ideas?

was thinking of using some kinda timing device with a contctor but dont know whats out and about....

cheers :^O

Contactor is great idea for the load end - for the timing you`ll need one of the following:

1. A specialised timer - see RS components - prob. expensive.

2. A pair of self-resetting digital timers that will lend themselves to firing each other`s timing.

OR...

3. A Multivibrator circuit - also known as a flip-flop. 2 potentiometers would provide the variable timing - but that is a fairly complicated piece of electronics, which you`d probably have to construct.......

I CAN do it, but, for the hassle & because its a customer, I`d go the RS route - it`ll look more professional.

KME
