Just moved in and got a shock off the taps.............

first floor flat TNS supply via micc (or mims depending on your age),  confirmed 50+ volts to all pipe work, quick check of Ze &...................ohherr mrs where is your earth.

Knock on the ground floor flat & yes 8 years ago we had the cu changed, took a look & both flats are minus a connection to suppliers MET.

Nice!

Got a cu change out of it.

will do just right for the nicey assessment in January......talking of which do they not send out letters anymore, I had a phone call today "Hi we left a message a week ago" err no you didn't as I've not had a notification of a message.."we will be undertaking you assessment on 4th Jan"......you will be on your own then I'm away  :pmsl1: I shall call you tomorrow & book a convenient date once I can get a couple of customers to be home in Jan.......just gets on my tits same old same old every year year after year.

had my DIS assessment yesterday. I got an email over month ago, can't find it now. The only letter I got was 2 weeks ago reminding me, and saying that if I cancel within 21 days it would cost me £200.

Edit; Oh, and you only need 1 example of work now, apparently the leaflet is no longer sent and details can be found on the web site. This is all explained in the first letter, which I never got.

This is why I`m not Nicey any more.

The trick is that someone else cancelled, and they`re finding someone to "fill a gap". I agreed, until they told me that, because they had a new AE, he`d want a full day; and I`d have to give them £ 390 MORE.

So I said "Foxtrot Oscar", and left them where they were..........Robbing bar stewards

I had an email that said   " Following our telephone conversation yesterday we confirm your assessment for Jan 15  blah  blah "

There was no phone conversation but I suppose that  date is as good any ....... they had my cash about 3 months ago.

if they phoned me and said that, id be reminding them that they didnt phone yesterday, and that they can put the date in writing...

i did once postpone an assessment the other year. sent email well outside 7 days notice (10 day, iirc), they finally replied to my email the day before assessment saying that i would be charged. i asked them to tell me what date my email was sent, and how many days it had been since then...

The 'scams' earn me so much money through big spenders insisting on them I sign up with a smile on my face.

the scams earn me nothing, its just an expense. ive only notified about 3 jobs in the last year. probably go elsewhere early next year, but if it wasnt for 1 customer who i do a lot of (mostly non-notifiable) work for then i doubt i would bother with it

I called & spoke to a very nice lady who explained that they were indeed trying to fill slots that have been cancelled by contractors & my name came up on the list......a new assessor called Chris apparently is now covering my area......wonder what biscuits he likes?

Anyway I explained I'm playing catch up after a period off with the busted wrist, the nice lady asked when would I like my assessment to be...................so tail end of Feb it will be when the bookings dept  decide to call and arrange it.

I got a phone call today, assessment tomorrow. Typo on one of the emails the other week so I was somewhat surprised. Not got any biscuits in either, he'll just have to have a bag of crisps and a swiss roll.

Mine was about 6 months late!!! Assessor man said something about a lot of AC's missing an assessment and them having to catch up so I expect an email in a couple of weeks!

He doesn't go for biscuits. I had a foxes selection box but he wouldn't bite. just made sure the tea bags in the office were fresh and gave him a lift to a funeral!

chris thomas?

Don't know Andy, she just said "Chris was looking to fill a free slot"............................................... :pmsl1: .........................I did chuckle when she said that, but alas the innuendo just passed her by.

How strange - Im purely Industrial and not one of my customers knows what a scam is and are more than happy to accept a standard EIC / EICR etc without a scam number on it

Do you mean real industrial or toy industrial ?
All of our work ultimately goes back to the same client which if you are not NICEIC you will not get on their approved suppliers list.
