Have you read that Old Mr Screwfix who sold it to Kingfisher group (inc B&Q), then started Toolstation...

Has now sold that to Travis Perkins group (inc Wickes!)....

Who else could he sell a Tools/Screw/Station/Fix business too next???

I was told last year that they were linked to Wickes & Travis Perkins. Now theyve totally sold out to them. Hope it doesnt change too much as i use them quite regularly and get on well with the staff at my local.

Once Travis has them all, it can push all the prices much higher. They are just taking out the competition then raise prices.

which may be a big mistake as if they raise prices too much people will go to the likes of screwfix or local wholesalers or even ebay...

Yes I use them a lot, mainly because Screwfix et all don't have a trade counter up here, but Toolstation do. And they are right next to my normal wholesaler William Wilson aka Electric centre (now sold to edmundson)

It would be nice if all TP branches now opened a toolstation branch, as there's a TP even closer to me.
