On one of your calc' bits you said regarding Touch voltage that..

"the 161.48 volts is not the touch voltage. The touch voltage is the voltage from the fault to the met. When the met is at 161volts this means that all other bonded metalwork is also at 161volts to make the faraday cage.

The touch voltage in this case will be just the voltage created along the ccts cpc wire

I would have to concur with your understanding of "touch voltage". That would also be my POV.

I apologise in advance - I`m not actually hi-jacking here; we`ve left the other one dead (I hope!)

But if I may digress a moment?

r.e. my comment about the 300KV grid supply.

Why is the national grid transporting electricity at such a voltage?

Because the conductors have a finite impedance. At, say 415V, with a presumed impedance of 0.1 ohm per kilometre, a massive amount of current would be generated within the cables; to be dissipated as heat.

As the impedance is a constant; the voltage is increased in order to lower the current; thereby minimising the losses in the supply cable.QED

Now, if we can return (sorry mr. Special) to "touch voltage".
