Does anyone else use "Widdling Sticks "   Highly technical devices  , NICEIC are running  a training course on how to use them  @ £400   for the half day day course .

Are you 100% sure that is not an extract from the NICEIC training course manual (issue 2.3 Sept 2016), It looks very similar to the one in the course syllabus illustration on their website?  You don't want to fall foul of their copyrights, as we all know how zealous they are at pursuing logo miss use, so I guess course material could be another area of potential legal action and we don't want to see the forum having to go through a prolonged court case due to publishing some copyright images? Perhaps one or two other members could verify if they know if the image is NICEIC copyright or public domain?

The very first thing I made as an apprentice was a drill sharpening gauge.


I can't remember but my first proper piece was a drill drift I think. Still got it.

Prior to that was a stepped shaft on the lathe and a 2" cube cut & filed square from a rough oversize billet using only hand tools.

Its fine Doc , I hold the copyright for them ...They are the  Evans Electric Patented underfloor  Widdling Sticks
