I have a problem. I have a sky eye in my lounge. In fact its on the back of the Sky HD box because the cabinet that houses the TV and various boxes does not allow the remote to work so I need an eye to sit under the TV so the box can get a remote signal.

With me so far?

I have a TV in my garage because I use it as a gym and like to have the TV on whilst I run on the treadmill. This afternoon, I decided to run a coax from the lounge to the garage and fitted another sky eye hoping to be able to access sky out there too as the digital signal from the aerial isnt too good.

I have a picture from the Sky box now but the 2nd eye in the garage doesnt have a lit LED and I can't change channels out there.

I take it that you can't daisy chain the eyes then? so what would be the solution please?

You can get video transmitters for CCTV, transfers a video and audio signal plus the remote control signal, not sure if it would work for sky but worth a thought, think they're in the region of £150. Used them between garages and houses for CCTV before now and they work well.

Before you buy anything, which output did you connect the gym coax to. Only  output RF2 carries the voltage for a magic eye &  RF 1 it will not work on. It sounds like you have no voltage there.

Edit, just noticed thats pretty much what Sweaty Betty said.

already using RF2 and have the voltage switched on as I am using an eye in the lounge Slips. What I wanted to do was 'daisy chain' them but now realise I can't do that so opted for BS's solution - cost approx £5 which will hopefully solve the problem. As it is I can watch Sky in the garage just cant change channel.

How about using an ir repeater for the lounge. Then you can use rf2 for the garage. You should be able to use the ir repeater to control any of the devices in the cupboard in your lounge and they are quite neat and tidy.
