Anybody on here have one? I'm looking at a 56 plate (New Shape) with around 50k on it. I'm actually at the moment not going be too concerned with loads of work use as work with a Saprk & I travel with him. I'm probably going to get more use out of it Social & Domestic...Motorway drives to Cornwall and other UK for surf trips/Bike Riding etc...

Just wondering if there were any particular models to avoid or year plates where things changed/got worse/better etc.

Thanks if anybody can offer any review advice.

Andy

With such little work use, and so much social use, do you really want a van at all?

I asked myself that, and the answer was a Subaru Forrester 4WD estate car made much more sense.

Good van, but they do have quite a few problem's. I owned 57 plate 19cdti 150 from new for close to 5 year's sold it just after christmas. At 46.000k gearbox witch is a common fault blew in outside lane doing 80 ish going past mani airport, not good was off the road three week's no back up van :( . then 52.000k diesel pump give up. Off the road for ten day's. All ways on off problem's with erg valve and turbo sensor, i ended up taking it apart and cleaning the bits my self was a lot quicker. Then i got rid when exust maifold cracked and turbo went at 100.000k. All in all though was a great van to drive, so have some one take a look around before buying one.

I have an 07 CDTi but its a 1.3 diesel. Gutless until it hits around 3000 rpm then it flies. So need to use the 6 gears! probably better of with bigger diesel engine. Other than that its a good little van but a side door would be handy.

I've had several astra's over the years the last one was a 53 plate which I sold with 60k on it and i always thought they were real workhorses, I was hammering up and down motorways all week and never had a problem with any of them hence buying one after another, size was eventually the only issue for changing to something a little bigger presently a peugeot expert
