The papers do nothing but sh*t stirr these days anyway. Proper jounalism seems to have gone out of the window in favour of tabloid hype.

A friend has spent many years working with children including sexually abused and young offenders - incredibly difficult and stressful work. But for every case that goes sour and the kid cannot be successfully re-habilitated, at least 20 -30 are turned around to grow up into useful adults, despite some appalling backgrounds. Trouble is the press don't report this, basically because they can't due to client confidentiality preventing social workers and associated do-gooders presenting their side of the stories, and showing how much good work they actually do.

I also think there is another problem here,

leats say that the media dig deeper and find something, write about it thus puting the trial in jepoardy, what then, this guy will get of on technicalitys when he should have been put down, what will the papers say then? nothing proberly they will never mention it again and moove on to the next ashly cole story

just like paul bb says, its all media hype. The country is full of gullible sun reading sheep. The same happens with football, Beckham is a hero one minute and a villian the next, and you hear everyone having the same sun editors directed opinions.

Venables COULD have been taken in for child ****.

Could Have??

He could have been brought in for missing a curfew or not paying a parking fine, anything.

He could have been set up by someone who knows who he is.

Let the judge and jury decide, then we will find out.

Wait until there is fact not the suns fiction.
Jack Straw was on the radio stating that he had been told not to say anything by the Solicitor/Attorney General as it might predudice his future prosecution when it comes to court, what the hell has he done this time that this has been saidheadbangheadbangheadbang

whilst the reason he is back in jail should be made public, i agree with the government not to say at the moment. once the trial for whatever he has done is over, then it should be made public. however, if it because he has done something identical to before, then it should be made public now, and have no trial

I think the fact that he has hadit cushy and served a mere 8 years and given new start in life has angered many. Who says crime doesnt pay? Our nation is good at looking after criminals and not so good at looking after victims.

And generally any working class person.

It is a fact that there are more agencies and support for criminals than there are for victims. Life hardly ever means life and most law abiding citizens see justice in this country as a big joke.

i was texted the following message.

[Removed] - I too received that text. Let's not give the defendant's legal team any excuse for an allegation of a mis-trial!

Quote from BBC news website:

"At the time that Venables was sentenced, it was said that he should keep his anonymity and, as a general principle, we want to make absolutely sure that nobody can get off a criminal offence by saying 'I can't get a fair trial, there's been too much publicity'."
Could be a load of rubbish as looked on internet as says its not true but could it be a cover up. If this offends anyone please delete the post.

Familiar with 'Chinese Whispers' - don't repeat this bull, it's only someone having a wind up. Venables could be in court for shoplifting - we'll find out soon enough in good time after the legal sysytem has dealt with it.

I think you'll find jail isn't cushy if you ever tried it :( As for looking after crims, nice statistic on news this morning about trying to stop repeat trivial offenders who they reckon cost the economy
