Been going through some stuff at the church today and was flabbergasted at how much we pay for water.

The place is metered. 3 toilets M/F/disabled. 1 small kitchen for making tea and coffee etc.

Total amount PA is over

Same as if you on a domestic meter.

You pay for both sewage and rainwater take off as it goes into the drains and has to be maintained bigger the building the bigger the charge.

As for a soakaway depending on the area will may need planning permission. :innocent

If you check on The Church of England web site I think you may find an explanation, also make sure that the Water authority are only charging for your car park area, and the area of buildings and not the whole site of the church i.e. graveyard etc, we had similar problem with my lads cricket club who received a bill under the new charging scheme which meant we were liable for 20 acres of ground drainage, we were being charged for football pitches and the park! if the ground can drain away on its own, natural drainage they cannot charge, also talk to the water people we did and they explained how to go about appealing they were very helpful which is unusual.

I don't get it ! If rain, like lightening, is an act of God and it falls onto one of His branches and runs onto the earth, how come you have to pay the water company !!!

Who spent 7 days creating the Earth anyway !!!!

Because god doesn't maintain the sewers and run the water treatment works!

6 days + 1 days rest.....

The whole thing sounds like a stealth tax. The church in Wales didnt have to pay any water charges at all.

sorry to sound stupid about this,

but I honestly thought churches and the like were exempt from stuff like that.

well, they should be, IMO anyway.

talk about no respect anymore. Im no bible basher, but I have respect for those that do.
