Ah well,, You didn't miss much then what with the state of Saturday night TV ;)
Thats true , don't bother with much TV these days ,  A few decent drama series but spoiled for me by the ad breaks .

The impression I get these days is TV will be bombarding us with adverts , interupted occasionally by a programme.

I admit to the following :

Doc Martin

DCI Banks    ( read all the books)

New Tricks

Downtown Abbey  ( Yeah yeah I know )

And now I'm struggling  .........thank heavens for R4.....R4Xtra ...R5 ...Radio WM ........JazzFM ...(gone)   This Forum ... DVDs ( Just re-visiting the whole series of Frasier )

clear skies, no wind, fairly mild up here

all this about a storm that doesnt exist yet. its not as if it exists off shore and heading to us, there is nothing. its just a computer somewhere saying there will be a storm monday

and i hope it doesnt rain enough for the roads to flood, because my car doesnt have an alternator so i wont be able to go for a drive through them (ironically, driving through water is what broke the last one...)

The authorities here are taking the warning seriously, all 4x4's & boats pulled into central location ready for deployment, extra emergency call staff on stand by to man the spate condition call center later this pm.

Me I've restocked the fridge with beer & vino....................I have however been up the ladder clearing gutters & on the drive I will wedge the main drain manhole cove open by a few inches tonight :innocent

We had a severe leaf storm about half an hour ago!

It's brightened up a bit now, but it seems we are in for a serious bought of bad weather.

Just my words Marvo, our garden is backed by deciduous trees, it is that time of year, and the high winds just whipped most of the leaves off these trees & it was like a snow storm in the garden buy with the leaves.

Hello all!!

I am about 50 miles to the east of Paul. [Newport] and here it has rained rather a lot on and off [like for 5 minutes every other 5 minutes] As for wind, yes, it has been a bit windy but nothing great. on a scale of one  to ten [Not the proper Beaufort one] about 3 or 4 perhaps, and i am at the highest bit of newport 250 feet above sea level and about 3 miles inland.... Take it from me, in the past we have had unbelievable wind here, entire rooves complete with trusses ripped off.

The worst is going to be about midnight tonight apparently...... I hope to god it is not like they say, but, to be honest, i think they write half of this stuff just to have something to talk rubbish about.... Hope this is not famous last words...

john

not too bad round here atm, had a bit of rain from this morning until a couple of hours ago, not bad for wind, but it does feel like its waiting to happen

[as they say]

I really must get some land drains in, I just know its gonna be flooded in the morning,

heavy clay here,  :(

I can only assume that either your lights are on the outside, or you have used blackboard, in which case a nice box if chalks will allow you to draw a nice bright picture?
