i have it on easy cert but it wont save to pdf for some reason so i can send it on.

i will try again .

IET/IEE don't mention visual inspection report anywhere (as far as I'm aware), it's a NICIEC invention, not worth the paper it's written on (in my view)
LOL I have used visual inspection reports for years, cheaper than a full PIr and acceptable under the regulations to satisfy basic safety reporting.

Strangely the full PIR starts with one of the most important inspections

VISUAL INSPECTION.

The amount of detail an inspector can get from the visual should never be underestimated.

The NICEIC and may I add the ESC have agreed that a visual inspection carried out by a person who is competant and has extensive knowledge of the installations type under inspection can issue a certificate for a visual inspection.

You could not issue a PIR if only the visual part of the inspection has been carried out hence the need for a seperate certificate with all its restrictions

Do you think I should set up a forum similar to the "Tips and tricks" where sparks (and up coming sparks) can do things like what you have done above - that is password protected, and you maybe, can use the same password that you have for the "Tips and Tricks? or you could change the password?

You mean put blank certs etc in a password protected area for approved people only??

I was wondering if they should not be in the public domain, but then again the IEE certs are so why not these??
