If it was the only thing making the cert unsatisfactory I would just correct it and fit a 20a mcb
There's a few things wrong, cpc used as switch live, no grommets in back boxes, cooker switch directly above hob etc etc etc

really, will you have that in writing?
I'm doing other work there right up till the new tenants move in, if I don't get the go ahead before it gets disconnected.

personally I do not disconnect circuits, i'm not allowed by law, however I would documment it all as in the observations and recommendations and also note next to the dangerous items, that temporary disconnection has been recommended to the customer

Sellers,

Both yourself & sparky b are correct.

You should disconnect, and you are not allowed under law to disconnect.

The answer is IMHO disconnection by isolation!

This must be recorded and documented to back up your disconnection by isolation, thus this does not break any criminal law and you comply with your duty of care as you have disconnected the dangerous circuit from the mains supply even though this is by isolation and the circuit can be re-energised by the customer.

The other way you can attack this is:

You have isolated the circuit to do your dead tests, and discovered this particular issue. At that point, you would be remiss in your "duty of care", if you re-energise the circuit, as you are then the person who resupplied potential to a potentially dangerous circuit.......iykwim??

Here you go....

to the OP I would code it a Code 2 - Requires Improvement.

As for the cpc as switched live, I would lock off the circuit personally and if that was unacceptable I would have my client sign one of my NAPIT "Dangerous Situation Report" forms and then probably still lock it off, LOL.

Hi all, thought i'd give you all a quick update.... I submitted a quote for the remedial work and got the job, hopefully leading to more regular work from the agent!

Thanks for all your input guys, have a Guinness on me

A twin socket on a 2.5t&e radial is not any code, cos it has overcurrent protection by the two fuses in the plugs which can be 13A at the most giving 26A which at clipped direct, is 27A for a 2.5t&e.

But we have gone through this B4 haven't we:yawn
