hi i am about to learn about electrical fault loop impedance and i do not have a clue what impedance means. can someone please explain

earth fault loop resistance the low the reading no fault a high reading meaning there is a fault am i correct.

It's when you can't have kids.............

Do you know what a resistor is?? Well, in an AC circuit, as well as resistance, because you can have inductance too, [which has a similar effect to resistance in a DC circuit] The resistance to the flow of the current is called impedance to distinguish the two [more or less..]

[Just wait till you get to capacitance]

Problem is though, untill you well and trully understand volts, amps, ohms, impedance, capacitance, inductance and the relationship between them all. learning about EFLI is a total and complete waste of time..

You on some sort of course???

john..

As John says

Inductance = R + XL (or XC)

where XL = inductive reactance and XC = capacitive reactance.

what am I doing answering posts like this on Christmas morning?
