Hi all! New here and need to know what socket this is: https://ibb.co/Ksz3tgx It's for a floodlight I have in the back garden that came with the house. Need to identify the socket so I can buy a bulb. Any suggestions on the type of bulb is welcome :)

Thanks

Hi, Are you saying this is a G24q-2 socket? I beleive there is G24q-1, G24q-2 & G24q-3 versions of the socket. Do you think its definitely the G24q-2 version?

Where is this light fitting?

If possible I suggest people change these fittings to BC or ES

Hope this helps

we cant tell if its 2 or 4 pin the number of cables going in to should give you a better idea ,it also looks broken  to me one clip is missing and the cratering ring looks broken ,I would change it to a new LED they are cheep now and last longer also use less energy

Sorry thought you had no idea about what type of lamp fitted that style of 4-pin base..

The 1, 2, 3 bit relates to different wattage lamps having a key-way to prevent the wrong lamp being fitted..

example see the 4 pin G24's part way down this link...

Do you have the old lamp..

or is there any writing on the fitting saying Max 13watt or 18watt etc..?

You can get universal LED equivalents that can fit in either...

https://www.lyco.co.uk/philips-corepro-6-5w-warm-white-led-4-pin-plc-g24q-2-bulb.html

But as Murdoch said where possible its better to replace the light for a more common type of fitting..

The socket has 42W on it... I thank you all for your help with this. I think as its an old light fitting and the confusion I'm having with all the varients to this socket. I think for the price of it I'm best just replacing the whole flood light with a new LED one.
