Home for the terminally bewildered, one step ahead
So I had a job to do,in Manc today, so called in to Elex

What a waste of effort

I stirred up,a small amount of faeces on the NICEIC stand

thought of getting a selfie with LFB and his stooge, then thought 'why waste the phone memory'

got some replacement yellow Super rods as mine have gone iffy.....and one of their new holesaw mandrel at VERY good prices

organisation?.......fricking NONE

most of car park taken up with a Circus ........not LFB and dopey Darren, but close

no signs to say carpark was full apart from one which was blocked by a road mending wagon, so nobody saw this. Had to drive into car park, drive around car park, leave car park, park on Trafford centre car park. 300m queue of traffic doing exactly the same as the cretins running it had not got the sense to turn people around at the roundabout

tnis time it was coupled  with some Building Expo and plumbing show.

a lot of the usual exhibitors notable by their absence...unless they were hidden away in a corner, e.g.   IET! Fitzgerald, Hamilton

some company called Schnabl had a totally empty stand

only new thing was some company who had reinvented the back box and socket!

their idea is to go like the continental style using circular plastic boxes and their circular sockets (BS1363) with a square trim, so TWICE as much stock to,carry?.....it may well take off, I may well be wrong! See present wife for details

just glad I did not go specially

Sounds like a fun day that was marred only by your overly high expectations :)
I expect very very little of these trade Shows and I am rarely disappointed!

full,of people getting as many free biros as they can and visiting people they already know.

it was only just over an hour of my life that I wasted so not a total loss

:slap

It's only down the road from me, and I wouldn't go,

There's not even any decent deals on tools anymore , at least not at Manchester anyway.

Was it only half full then with actual electrical stuff, and pumped out with general building stuff to fill the hall,?

Yep

and then they had brought the walls in to shorten the space

possibly the worst I have ever been to

very disorganised and they had moved the entrance to the rear (Oooh Err Uncle Fred Elliot)

everyone traipsing around looking for the door

saw a couple of slightlty interseting things

NO dancing Girls, no eye candy....loads at the NICEIC Stand fawning at the feet of LFB

IET never bothered going , unless they were down by the toilets and I missed them

glad I was only passing

The IET were obviously smarter than you, :slap

What, no Tony T&E and his contingent to annoy / bore the carp out of everyone?

Standards must be slipping, how disappointing!
Ah, sorry, common misunderstanding.

quite often on here Tony T&E is referred to as LFB......Little Fat Bloke.

his entourage were like bluebottles around faeces

I always make a point when attending these type of  'dos' of wearing a Hi Viz Polo shirt  so that I can be noticed by them.

they do not like me and the feeling is mutual but the reasons/history is far too involved to go in to

unfortunately as yesterday was not planned I had no HiViz, so slipped under their RADAR

Little fat bloke with a big gob along with his entourage wearing the latest designer workwear. He droned on and on and on and on and on and on and on and throughout every meal until I snapped.

The entourage wouldn’t have looked out of place on the podiums at Ministry of Sound on a techno night. Had I known I could get day-glow workwear I wouldn’t have spent so much money with Cyberdog!
