Just looking for some information on what steps to do next?

I have passed my C&G 2330 Level 2 and 3 and got distinctions in both.

I have just passed my C&G 2382-200 17th Editions BS7671.

I am planning to do my 2391-10 Inspection and Testing.

I dont have my NVQ nor Part P. What I would like to know is would it be worth doing my Part P?

I am not as yet working as an apprentice as I am a mature student!! But i want to Test and Inspect in commercial premises, but would like to do domestic as well! What do I need to go self employed or become a competent person??

Can anyone give me some helpful info as to what to do next to progress my career!

Many thanks in anticipation

Derek

Lad, the 2391 is much harder exam to crack. I would get get some T & I experience under your belt before attempting the exam.

You dont need to do the Part P course - the 2330 covers everything in that course and more.

I am roughly in the same shoes as you, I am planning on joining the NIC when I can get the funds scraped together. This at least lets you work legally.

Becoming self employed and being a competant person are pretty much the same thing.

If you go down the route of Part P, you can now do your NVQ via the net and distance learning.

The overriding factor for you is that you need to get your experience levels up, the 2391 wont teach you how to actually test, nor will it teach you the knowledge to estimate the age of older installations that need to be tested persay.
