Just wondering what Wi-Fi connection speeds you get to your local wi-fi systems.

I seem to get around the 240/270Mbps to my Draytek, wondering if this is good or bad.

It seems, slow mind!

Most of our data is stored on the network, so when I save a file it saves to the network, not the local pc HDD.

Most of our wired connections are Gigabit Lan here.

Only limited by the device rather than the infrastructure.

It is just that the wi-fi now seems slow.

wi fi anything is slower than hard wired link
State the bloody obvious why don't you!

I KNOW that, always have, and that gets you a scoob, FFS!!!

I was asking what speeds people actually get across their local wi-fi, not onto the internet, IF I had a GB wired point where the laptop currently is I would use it, but I don't.

I am in the process of reorganising things, and it just seems to me that the wi-fi is slow, @ 240 ish and was wondering what others actually get.

:slap :slap :slap

think mine runs on about 11MBps - I'm too far from wifi to get decent signal and check it for you which is why my basement / kitchen has been hard wired

No not for a temporary situation I'm not.

So 11MBps or 11Mbps?

Big difference.

We are in the process of re-organising the WAN/LAN here so that is why I asked.

I'm not going to do any permanent changes until the moves are complete, I was looking for what people were getting across wi-fi links.

nope worse than that, on a 2 bar signal 1.5 Mbps download, 0.2 Mbps upload on a Virgin hub - might be something to do with teenage son playing on-line games mind you!

yep one B is bigger than the other :^O does MBps actually exist? never heard of anything over Gbps
