I've not heard much about this being done, so wondered if there were reasons why not to.....?

Any tips much appreciated.

I've got insulation between the boards on my extension, mainly as a spot of soundproofing as it's the kids bedrooms above.

I also ran all cables down one joist run & boxed them in so's not to insulate them.

Mate at work built a 2 storey extension on his house last year and he had to insulate between the floors to comply with the regs.

I have built a 2 storey side extension

I looked at a new boiler, but decided to put kingspan below the floor in the existing house (had to do this per building regs for the extension)

The difference is noticable- my gas bill has not went up and i have an extension on the side of the house

ive just put rockwool insulation between ground floor joists (300mm insulation) then stapled chicken wire to underside of joists to prevent insulation dropping down in future.all done from under floor.only got old stripped varished floor board on ground floor.pig of a job to do but can feel the benifit allready.will be interesting to see next gas bill.wickes buy one roll of insulation get 3 free.works out about 7.25 per 14.3 m X 100mm roll.
