    Building Regulations and Solar Panels

As above! What tariff are you on @johnb2713 ? You made £90 in December? I don't think I made 90p!

Advice on best value solar panels and any known grants available

As for govt grants, unless you are on benefits, you'll struggle to find any grants out there. Most were from the EU, and I believe something occurred a few years ago , I can't quite remember what.

    Octopus billing problems

I was originally a Bulb customer and since their demise, I was moved to Octopus, which was fine by me. But.... since last March, April I've been having problems getting electricity bills from them. I have a Solar and battery system, and have no problems getting FIT and gas bills, and the usage...

    Huawei monitoring software

Hi, does anyone have a Huawei setup? and if so, do you use the FusionSolar app to monitor it? I’ve have my solar and batteries for about 15 months now and generally very happy with it, but, the FusionSolar app has started to be troublesome. I’ve reported it to the helpline ,but they’re useless...

    Octopus Flux Battery Charging strategy

Personally I only charge the batteries overnight in the winter months, from April to October the sun runs the house and charges the batteries and heats the hot water. I'm not familiar with the Flux tariff, but I assume you get a very good return for exporting that makes it worth while? An...

    Insulating batteries in winter?

I can't find any info for my particular batteries about this subject, nor in fact anything on the internet about it, but it seems common sense. What I do know though, in the coldest months of winter ( and we haven't had a really cold one for awhile ) charging at 2KW/ hour, for 4 hours, I should...

    Insulating batteries in winter?

Does anyone see any benefit in building some kind of insulating box around my batteries? I have a 10KW Huawei system in the garage, and obviously see the down turn in efficiency of the batteries in the colder months, and would like to improve them. It wouldn't be anything too fancy, probably ply...

I'm currently a Bulb customer/Octopus, and I'm wondering when I will be offered/forced onto one of these tariffs?

Force discharge to grid on a Solax batter/inverter system

Can I ask why you would want to do that? Surely you can't be getting more than 5p ish a KW to export? and importing at 7-8 times that. Do you have anything to use up excess power? EV, batteries, hot water tank?

Recommend me some snow socks please for my van.

Nor do we in the grim north, but fortunately they do in the french alps where we're going in a few weeks.

Recommend me some snow socks please for my van.

Having changed my van last year, and gone up a wheel size, I'm in need of some new snow socks. I've always carried chains ( ski trips to the french alps ) but they are a faff to fit and fancied snow socks. So.... anyone have any thoughts?
