Your sparky is probably pissed off with being told how to do his job. Others have mentioned you have accumulation of leakage current causing the 300mA rcd to operate. Get the earth leakage tested at source. You may have to rejig the main incomer to sub boards to get rid of this fault. Chasing it...
I'm £120 for half days labour and £240 for full day. Both plus parts. If it takes me an hour then it's still same price regardless. I think it's a fair price.
I did it years ago. £42k. With the shifts I get plenty of time off and still do SE work to keep my NAPIT membership. Earn about £12k extra doing this. Paid holidays, pension and sick pay. Best thing I did really. Perk is, I only take on SE work that is easy.
