I'm a retired (civvie) M&E engineer, I worked on an RAF airfield and was responsible for the maintenance and repair of the high voltage ring main circuits which included airfield ground lighting. Part of my work was hv switching, earthing, making safe and issuing permits for the workforce to carry out repairs and maintenance. I am also an avid diy'er
