    Have a look at telemecanique switches or proximity switches. They will have something you can use. You will need a limit switch that is operated by the door when it rises and an over ride switch that will allow the light to be turned off when not needed. You could have a relay arrangement...

    Yes D! Earth clamp on one side of the fitting on the metal pipe and earth clamp on the other side on the metal pipe then a piece of 10mm earth cable green/yellow connecting the the two clamps

    Wander lead - make or buy

    I bought a 50metre drum of 1.5mm single earth wire. You can get to one end of the run as they wrap it into the centre of the drum and the other end is on the edge of the drum. I also use it to bond the back boxes on PIR inspections instead of stripping down some 2.5mm
