    At the bottom of the galvanised box there are 2 cables coming in, grey, earth, black, brown. I thought these were the upstairs/downstairs cables. At the top of the box there is 1 cable coming in, that is the brown, blue, earth you are referring to. I really appreciate you taking this time to help.

    Hi Fleeting, no I took all of the cables from the rose and removed the rose. I joined the power and bedroom together so that the bedroom would still work. I took the fan cable and joined it to the new quad switch.
