    New wiring regs

By 'proper money' are you referring to the old pounds, shillings and pence lark? I was born a month before decimalisation, Ive had it patiently explained to me a hundred times and I still don't get it. It makes as much sense as the scoring system in cricket, i.e. none at all.

Any works at all been done in the house? And I mean anything? How many times have I gone to a 'mysterious fault', asked the homeowner if owts been done, and get a no in reply. The when the fault is located, they suddenly remember that "Oh yes, we had an electrician/plumber/gasman/painter etc...

13amp socket not working, the rest are

Check the other sockets in the house with the tester and make a note of which ones are the same. Then, make sure you turn the power OFF and check those...

    FLUKE 1662 testers.

So if members ratings were assessed on the quality of the answers, we 'd have some new levels I think. Gold, Silver and Bronze. - standard. Steptoe would have his own level of 'Special brew'. Spec Locs would be 'Tolstoy'. Kerching maybe 'Hatter'. Id be somewhere around 'Toilet Brush', R.B...

    3 gang switch problems

When you ring the builder to invite him back, say sweetly at the end of the sentence - ".....or I could get another electrician in to fix it and just send you the bill if you/your electrician is too busy to do it?"

I was in a bit of a rush the other week, saw a listing for an unpopulated  Metal CU (I have all the internals for it) and clicked to buy. When it turns up its a metal back and a plastic front. So sent an email to the seller asking WTGrape this is? Received a reply which explains that actually...

    Looking for a Torque driver

Barx - Ive got the Armeg set and it hasn't caused me any problems.... 'cause like most on here I haven't used it. Had my assessment the other week (NIC), no mention of it.
