Fitting Aurora fire rated downlighters and in box is a seperate small rubber gasket in a plastic bag. Cant work out what it is for as light housing has rubber gasket where it meets plaster board and nothing in the instructions. Is it a spare although looks too small?

Cheers

On non-fire rated ones it holds the cable connector onto the spring / shell.

cheers, Paul

It is placed between the edge of lamp and the fitting.

You fit the ring within the front recess of light then fix lamp and pull lamp back into the light right up against the rubber ring the lamp is then held in place with a wire clip.
