yep, same as those 'guidance' that shows zone 1 or 2 around a sink...

does still happen but yes, they would need fire rated, because the garage is a different compartment from the house, doesn't matter what type of room is above. again, look for fire doors

My go to downlight and I know people’s thoughts on integral units but I used Bell Firestay downlights. Fire rated, dimmable and IP rated, 60-70mm hole I think and comes in white with a magnetic brushed chrome bezel. Also comes with push fit terminals and plug and socket style connector so can be fitted and removed for decorating or plastering


I had to fit firerated downlights in my downstairs hall as it’s a fire rated ceiling as my house at one point of it’s life was a MOD HMO
