Installing RCD protection on old rewireable c/u

5-way board with RCBO on each circuit would also be good.

Why bother with two separate supplies when one will do ?

Except the jubilee clip glands are a proper product and the armoureds are compressed onto the brass Ferrell. Known as CT glands to us on the highways

Why bother with two separate supplies when one will do ?

That's a bloody rough job ! The old streetlighting trick of a BS951 clamp on the armour too you wouldn't believe how often we come across that in newish installs.

Installing RCD protection on old rewireable c/u

Wonder if I'd get any trade point discount on that price. Very much doubt it never give any discount on electrical only plumbing and building materials.

    Coax

If cost allows the Webro cable is excellent they even do a twin cable with very low losses. Other than that I use RG6 for both Freeview and satellite installs. The cheap 75ohm low loss with the thin braid is utter shite for digital and wasn't all that for analogue signals.

    BR..ISH GAS

Maybe his loop tester didn't have a low current setting or what Robin called a DLOK. When I first started the instrument the electrician training me used was a Megger LT5 and he used to bypass the RCD with some 2.5 singles to do the loop tests. And I always thought BG issued there engineers...

Max Zs for 2A and 4A C type BSEN60898 MCBs

On a recent L.E.D lighting install we have fitted 2 and 4 amp type C 60898 MCBs due to the small loading on each of the circuits. Been looking in the big green book and cant find any max Zs values for 2 or 4 amp the lowest is 6 amp. Tried the manufactuers website but had no luck either they are...

    Domonic littlewood

I remember a programme called wrong car right car where he guided people into getting the best deal when buying a car. Used a few of his tips myself when buying cars and it's worked. Ones like never accepting the first quote they give on the finance saved a few quid there.

    Advice re fuse box

Did you consider using RCBOs on every circuit that will require RCD protection, instead of a dual RCD board ? Cost a bit more but the advantage is that you only loose 1 circuit instead of a group if theres an earth leakage fault. Must post the pics of the state my mums old house was left in...
