A guy (nameless) was told to take the 3 phase door heater down and replace it with 2 x single phase heaters and install 2 single phase mcbs

He installed the new heaters ok , only later when i stuck my head above the ceiling did I find the reason he did it so quick with the additional 30 m of swa heading for the scrap yard ,no doubt !

And when questioned said it diddnt matter because they where on the same phase door heater nightmare.jpg

Thats before we get going about the lack of glanding , huge holes in the top of the isolator ,shared earths ,non identification of conductors etc ....- needless to say he is no longer with us , but still lurking in the electrical contracting world ,so I`m told ....be afraid be very afraid

That's a bloody rough job ! The old streetlighting trick of a BS951 clamp on the armour too you wouldn't believe how often we come across that in newish installs.

seen the 951 on the armour many times, although on a proper cutout at least it cant crush the inner cores. not really mcuh different to the jubilee clip that comes with them

Except the jubilee clip glands are a proper product and the armoureds are compressed onto the brass Ferrell. Known as CT glands to us on the highways
