Have done my MEIGAN course. Most of my work is hospitals. Have to install to HTMs and MEIGAN. Just struggling in my head to remember codes and to what extent to test. Have not kept up to date with changes (if any) not done a PIR for years. Don't want to get there and look like I don't know what...

    bonding cable tray?

Do a lot of work using galv tray, ladder and basket. In all instances we bond everything. Have left it before but always been pulled on it by the consultant. Whether its a reg or not it appears that all consultants think it should be bonded.

Had my Bosch 36V for five years now. Cost me an arm and a leg but is probably best bit of kit I've brought. And believe me I've brought some kit over the last few years!!!

    Name dropping.

Met Sir Jimmy Saville whilst working at Stoke Mandeville hospital. We had just gone to the ATM in the spinal injuries department when he came in. Apparently he used to donate a lot of money to them and helped open that department. He stood and had a chat with us for a good ten minutes. Top...

    TP panel change

Looks well neat but would like to know how long it took. If you've got a lot of time to do a job you can spend time making it neat. I done a TP board change the other day and had half a day to strip the old one out and install the next. Plus point only 12 circuits and no testing. (done by others)

Told him I might not have any domestic to show the assessor. I was told, and I quote, " ..... some work at your own house would be ok or failing that...

    What New VAN????

I have a 59 plate Transporter. Had a couple of little problems more annoying than anything else. Have had it from new and done a bit of reading on van forums before getting one. Everyone seems to have a horror story one way or another about different vans. If we listened to all of them we would...

    Decorative metal conduit

How about stainless conduit. Looks nice and smart as long as you don't scratch it whilst threading. Bit expensive but looks the dogs.

    Australian Regs.

TPS was never stipulated. They only asked for the installation to comply with Aussie regs. Out of intrest does TPS have an orange outer sheath? I only asked because they have just supplied some cable for their sparks to pull in that are 10mm 5 core but size wise looks more like a 16mm 5 core...

    Australian Regs.

Sorry to bang on about it but this will be my last post on subject. The official reason for rewiring is...wait for it.... its harder to find a fault when using singles than if you use multicore cables!! To me that is just being a lazy *********! If cables are in trunking and conduit and not...
