you would have been better off with VAG in my opinion, better mpg, more power, better torque spread, the only real downside is the PD units are a bit more noisy. my brother has a Seat Ibiza 1.9TD running ~230bhp and ~350LBft yet when we drove it to the St.Tropez last summer with 4 adults, a...

lol, fair enough. you can destroy the dual mass flywheel on standard power, hell even the 90's and 105's can as its down to how you drive it more than what power you've got, if you use high gears at low speed(so low revs and high load) you'll break the flywheel quicker than high power and...

i've got a gt3071 as the rebuild turbo, remember i am fitting the 28 to a standard block, the 30 would destroy it! the spare engine is getting stroked and bored as far as it'll go(2.3 is the furthest people normally go but i want to see if i can overbore into the water jacket and sleeve it to...

    How Rude!!!!!

scale doesn't affect the stat or water temp, it only affects water quality, element life and potentially volume if you have that much scale. if it was getting too hot despite stat changes then it will be the element doing it, no idea why but they can do that when they are knackered.

why? if looked after properly a cosworth is no worse than any VAG vehicle, i own a modern skoda(so its an audi A3, TT, VW golf, bora, seat leon) and its been the most unreliable car i have ever owned, but i am keeping it as i love the engine, potential upgrades and 4x4.

    turned it down

+1 you did right :) we get surveyors at work promising tenants we can do this or that and then when we turn up and either say we can't or that it needs a load of additional work they think we are just being a-holes.
