I think it's something you can only confirm with your insurance company, policies vary wildly.

Not sure if that's strictly true, I think you can put materials through but not labour. I spoke to the tax office about the very same situation some time ago and was told to put the unpaid invoice through as income, and then also put it through as expenditure, so in other words, no gain...

Not sure I understand the question. Do you mean testing continuity between board and extraneous conductive parts?

You'll find the info you need in OSG, page 18

All you can do is test it before you lay it, continuity reading should match that of manufacturers. Insulation resistance to make sure all is well before you lay it. After that you're in the lap of the gods once it's covered. Main problems seem to be with floor sensor rather than the mat itself.

Megger is my favourite one to leave the house without. I always take it out of the van at nights for obvious reasons. I now have a post it note on the dash that frequently sends me back into the house to fetch it!
