I forget what day of the week it is most of the time, I was once doing an early shift at work, starts 630am, came home and went for a lie down. Saw 615 on Me clock and rushed to get My work gear on, then rushed downstairs only to find out it was 615pm:coat

Remember when I was an apprentice, an electrician and me get a job to put some solder some large lugs on to a cable, when we got there we find we have forgot to bring the blowlamp.

The place we were working was a workshop making metalwork, so me thinking I was being a smartarse picks up a gas axe to use to solder the lugs on which was not to successful as the lugs slightly melted (I got told by one of the guys I had set it up perfectly for cutting steel).

Had to phone the office to ask the foreman could he bring the blowlamp up to where we were working as we had forgot it,he asked is there anything else you need, after a long pause on the phone I replied er yes can you bring us some new lugs as well we have had a slight accident with the others.

er yes gas axe a bit much for soldering..... I was having my lunch in a factory job and one of the blokes from the shop floor came into the workshop with his car thermostat asking how to test it. I jokingly said put the gas torch (oxy acetylene) on it. I didnt know he would be daft enough to do it! he wasnt happy!

I did a job a few years back where we needed to heat shrink some cables, we had none.

So I went to the owner and told her we had to go and get some heat shrink because we needed to insulate the terminals on the three phase board.

I almost died laughing when she told us she had loads of heat shrink, for food packaging mind.

Megger is my favourite one to leave the house without. I always take it out of the van at nights for obvious reasons. I now have a post it note on the dash that frequently sends me back into the house to fetch it!
