    ^^ Exactly, and I have seen way too many times people have accidentally nicked the insulation when trying to cut off a cable tie. Solid core cables are pretty rigid and stay where you put them anyway.

    ^^ Good post. I agree that stored hot water is the only way to go if electrically heating bath water. We have a 9.5kW instantaneous heater for the sink in the garage and downstairs WC (on other side of the wall) where it wasn't possible to get DHW from the boiler without going all the way round...

    It may well have a PME sticker since it has the provision for PME, but might still be a TN-S supply from earlier days. Best ask the DNO, or report a high Ze.

    Do you have some evidence of this? AFAIK they just went out of fashion when we started using solid core cable. If they bear a suitable BS number or CE mark they should be ok to use.

    Hardly... My iPhone 3G got repaired under warranty 3 times, despite me babying it the whole time! Towards the end of my contract it freezing or dropping calls.
