personaly I think the codes should be changed.

1- likely danger of death

2- possible danger of death

3- maybe possibly danger of death but we don't know just yet

4- insurance nul and void regulation

I wonder if an insurance company has failed to pay out on a code 4?

UPDATE: I have been asked to speak to the stores health and safety manager about the issues that have been raised with these boards, with a view to sorting out the defects (i.e, nice shiny new boards, covers that fit, earthing not supplied by a BS951 clamp, correctly sized earths, blank plates in the hager CU beside the contactors, not using butched key switches to operate the contactors etc etc etc)

If so, there will be some interesting pics to come methinks

Fingers crossed and all that that you get the go ahead to sort it out proper and safe!

has someone had a shock at one of their other stores perchance?
Only when I showed them the list of problems, which I reminded them about last night when I was doing another job there. (just a "gentle reminder")

The crossed neutrals issue; I take it then

that the individual conductors cannot be

identified within the boards.

The heat emitted in service; can the circuit

protections be depended upon to operate

when they should.

Yes, No RCD's anywhere except as plug-ins.

If I was a Fire Officer I would wonder at the

wisdom of allowing the space to fall to such

a low temperature that permitted the system

to freeze.
