    I've had the same problem on this forum before. A lot of these guys are ' Forum ' trolls - just look at the number of posts ffs. However there is actually some good info on here. Don't take it to heart, just get the answer that you need and help others if you know something they don't...

    What about replacing a main switch on a 16th edition split board. Would you then have to RCD protect the non RCD protected side ?? Come on FFS

    I don't know whether you are right here. Surely if you are fault finding on a pre 17th edition install, you would not have to upgrade to current regs to effect repair.

    Yes Tom, there are 2 boards. 1 is supplied by a 100ma RCD and the other is supplied by a 30ma RCD. This is a really old installation. I am starting to think that a prev sparky had been before and replaced a 100ma with a 30ma RCD.
