30ma RCD tripping on TT circuit

Shoot me now but. Went to a house today with a TT system. RCD tripping but not identifiable to a particular circuit. Spent all day trying to identify which circuit was the problem. Each circuit would stay on independently but when other circuits where added, the RCD would trip - tried all...

Volkswagen Caddy (New shape). Great van - but a bit small. Only 69BHP (2.0 SDi) so painfully slow but it does the job - lovely thing to drive.

    Bosch or Makita ??

I have the Makita BHP451RFE It is the best drill I've ever owned. Had a Ni-cad 24V Bosch before this but the batteries where ***ked. You will not be disappointed with this Makita. Battery charges in 22mins and seems to last forever. I use the batteries for my torch, radio etc.. The only...

is this make trustable for proving something is dead

I have the T100 also - Its a good tester. Only downside is that it trips an RCD if testing between live and earth. There is a way to get round this and that is by testing L-N first for 5 seconds, then you can test L-E without the RCD tripping. Bit of a pain at times but I am told that other...

Sorry for being a bit green here. Do you clamp the meter around the live and neutral of the circuit being investigated.

    Special offers....??

Retail price is retail price - it is the only way to survive. If you pass the saving on parts onto the customer, your labour looks extremely expensive. Remember that you are a spark - hourly rate etc. I use the mark up on materials to pay for advertising, van, pension, etc. Come on - the...

    Smoke alarm heat detector interconnectivity

Thanks for that Green-Hornet Customer explained that she had been spraying deoderant upstairs when the smoke alarm activated. So I assumed that the optical sensor had been contaminated. When i replaced with a new alarm the heat alarm wouldn't interconnect. Both ways - the heat alarm when tested...

    Smoke alarm heat detector interconnectivity

Hi All First post on here so go easy. I replaced an optical Firex smoke alarm today with an ionisation Firex smoke alarm. ( the optical alarm was activated constantly, only had ionisation in van ). However the heat alarm in the kitchen now is not interconnected. I am going tomorrow to pick up...
