    Eicr Recommendations.

Thanks guys, I fitted blanks & labels before I left. As you say, it would probably have taken me longer to input the deviations rather than just fit the blanks & labels. "New build (up to three storey) Grade D, Catergory LD2 Smoke detectors should be installed in circulation spaces...

    Eicr Recommendations.

Afternoon all. Would value your opinions on the following. We carried out an EICR on a new property wired 3 years ago. Various problems identified such as labelling & missing blanks etc. I also noticed there is no heat detector within the kitchen. There are 2 detectors one in the hall...

    Swimming Pool Installation

Thanks Andy. When you say wiring, do you mean accessories? The only wiring we have within 2.5m of the pool, is a 6mm SWA below floor screed supplying the pool. Its more of a very big bath than a swimming pool! GS

Evening all. We are currently involved in the installation of a small indoor swimming pool on a project we have been working on for over a year now. The earthing system is TNC-S. The pool control equipment will be supplied by a 32A Type C RCBO with a rotary isolator next to the control panel...

    Spot The Problem

2.5mm Supply to FA switch fuse fed in 2.5mm from main switch? 63A TP MCB not adequate O/L protection, but then again you could argue the fact that the 2.5mm could never be overloaded due to the 6A MCB upstream. FA switch fuse not fed in Fire-tuff/Pyro cable? Am I missing something here? GS

    Intruder Alarm Recomendations

Morning all. I hope everyone is well. Quick question. I have a large residential property we a currently rewiring. We don't usually install intruder alarm systems, but on this particular job we seem to be doing everything. Literally. Anyway. I require a mid range wired system, 1 Control box...

What level & grade is required?

No I have not "forgotten" these. I am not designing the system. I am pricing based on a specification drawn up by the architect, which includes provision for emergency lighting throughout. I have had a meeting with the client this afternoon and have asked them to arrange for the fire safety...

What level & grade is required?

Morning all. I hope all is well. Just a quick one. I am in the middle of pricing for a large rewire of a domestic property. The property is going to be converted into a holiday let. I have recommended that a panel type addressable fire alarm system be installed however the owner is rather...

    ECR question.

Cheers for the reply's guys. Decided I will give C3 for the lack of RCD protection, but overall assesment will be satisfactory (as RCD protection was not required at the time of install.) Evans - I have been up to my neck with work for the last 10 months or so. Took another spark on and had to...

    ECR question.

Evening all. Long time no speak, hope you are all well. Quick question. Testing a block of flats today. Electrical system was installed in 2000. No RCD protection on any circuit (which was not required back then) As the installation was carried out to an earlier edition of BS7671, which did...
