Installed ferrite cores onto the live and neutral cables making a buzzing noise?

It could be an RF issue but that would need a sweep with a spectrum analyser although I doubt there would be any RF of a harmful frequency or magnitude to cause an issue

Extractor fan install is noifiable, plus more!!

How is this ever going to be enforceable If everybody shys away from installing fans is it just counter productive legislation that does the opposite of what was intended

    Mft calibration prices

I actually think that comment could be seen as offensive when you seem to be the ignorant one here having been brainwashed by the sham scheme you are a member of, have you ever seen the specs for or set foot inside a UKAS accredited calibration lab they are by no means the scam you suggest, the...

Installed ferrite cores onto the live and neutral cables making a buzzing noise?

If there is a buzzing noise then it suggests that some harmonics may be present on the mains supply

That programme hardly scratched the surface of the SMETS and SMETS2 standards and the control potential the energy providers could excercise given half a chance

    Out of the shadows

I have lots of good memories of Mull and the surrounding waters and the shipwrecks, usually based in Tobermory but did quite a few trips up the sound from Oban

Extractor fan install is noifiable, plus more!!

But doesn't that sum up a lot of the electrical industries failings in many aspects of the trade today and for that matter the last 2 or 3 decades But that is before you then factor in the loss of earnings, the travel costs, any accomodation that may be needed to attend the course and then the...

Megger X1 vs Metrel Mi3152 XC

I suppose a lot depends on how you read BS 7671 and also guidance note 3 in relation to RCD testing If you are installing A, B or F type RCD's and do not have a tester capable of specific type testing of them are you properly equiped especially when testing EV chargepoints

The best thing to do would be speak to an electrician and discuss your requirements and if he is happy for you to install the cable then you can move forward with your plan

    Mft calibration prices

Does it, about 12 years ago I fitted a dual RCD CU all tested and working correctly, 5 months on and while doing some other electrical work I retested one of the RCD's and it didn't trip as expected found it was out of spec when ramp tested only tripping at 37mA So how often would you need to...

    Strange way to supply

I wonder where the certificate is for the previous work carried out including the modification to the switch fuse, they didn't even label the switch fuse to indicate the wilfull damage and potential danger they left, opening the cover gives immediate access to live parts where previously it...
