Trying to identify a very old household bulb?

They were certainly available for standard mains, 240 volts, but quite possibly for other supplies too...

Trying to identify a very old household bulb?

I think that is a festoon, not a fluorescent. i.e a long filament right along the length.

    Mft calibration prices

That's fine as long as your own standards are calibrated to a traceable standard. Ultimately your standard should (must?) have an unbroken chain of calibration back to National Physical Laboratory.

    Cut cable under the flooring

Perhaps it's worth pointing out that they, the flooring company, will be liable for any subsequent electrical problems under the floor, which would also necessitate the removal and restoration of their work.

Mira Sport shower not heating up correctly

Noise from toilet, etc is called water hammer. Replace washers in ball valve, tap, etc affected. Nothing to do with your shower IMO.

    Powering 19v DC motor.

I assume the cleaner which donated the motor gave you the 19volts rating(?) Did it state a wattage? BTW. Aldi were recently selling some long handled grass clippers which use their 12volt tool battery . The actual tool was only about £15 I think, but battery and charger cost rather more. OR...

    Wiring question

My concern would be the internal wires. At a guess the black and white are for live and switched live, (from an internal PIR). If my guess is right, putting either of them in the neutral is a recipe for smoke.

    Wiring question

I doubt it and certainly wouldn't switch it on without further information.

Led bulb in cold water taking minutes to light up - need replacing?

Assuming the driver is separate and accessible just connect a spare lamp to it in place of the one in water. If it works straight away you need to replace the lamp, or the opposite.

Can I remove this time switch (meter)?

Its an integral part of the metering system so I would say NO, you shouldn't touch it. You would have to break the meter seal to disconnect the control wire too. Whether anyone would know or care if you did may be a different question.

Cylex Wall Mounted Electric Heater not working

If you need a cheap fix to see you through the winter, may I suggest you buy a portable oil filled radiator. Have a look at the range available from CPC. https://cpc.farnell.com/pro-elec/pell0208-uk/9-fin-2000w-oil-filled-heater/dp/HG01189 They are available with timer and thermostat...

Best way to find a short circuit between L and N? I.e a tripping MCB.

A bit of intuitive guesswork can help too. e.g. Are there any outside light fittings? Is there any ongoing building work? Has any area been recently decorated with new accessories?

    SolaX Triple Power Battery Balancing

I very much doubt it means what it says! Looks like a typo or mistranslation to me.

    House purchase - old electrics

When I refurbished our retirement bungalow hallway I included an escape light, which is also over the services cabinet. It's a discreet little thing, only about 3cm diameter downlight, and the charge light acts as a night light. Probably not common in domestic installations, but I'm not sure...

    A few pictures

I would have to lay boards on there; then I would probably crawl along them.

Electric shower leaking and produce static shock

I'm very wary of electric showers, (although I have one), and would be downright scared of one which "tingled". Water and electricity are not a good mix. It isn't static; it's a fault ! And it deserves a professional checkout whilst you are alive to arrange one.

Checks before replacing ceramic hob with induction hob

Ok. Hadn't realised that. I think your new unit will come with bridges, which may be a different size to the old ones. Physical fit is their only criteria.

    Measuring solar panels current.

Is it connected to a storage battery? At a guess the controller is pulsing to regulate the battery charge needs.

Checks before replacing ceramic hob with induction hob

Yes. 2 and 3 need to be bridged together. The anomaly to me is that the cable picture shows no connection to terminal 1 whilst the terminal diagram shows it bridged to 2/3. Maybe its actually unused and doesn't matter. Perhaps it's too early in the day. Sorry if I'm missing the point.

Connecting two power supply units for maximum output

I did once have dealings with paralleling regulated supplies. We had three 50amp modules, supplied from three phase, to make a 150 DC output. However, if I remember correctly, there were additional connections to be made between the regulators of the three. I think basically one module took...
