    Laptop,advice needed please

I recently had the same dilemma, I ended up with a Lenovo with Ryzen 3 processor and 256gb SSD HD and 8gb RAM with a 15.6" display. My budget was sub £400 and this one came in at £370 from Box. Came with windows 10 too. Been using it a week or 2 and seems pretty good so far.

    anyone good with lathes?

The SY feeds a flourescent LUV fitting above the lathe in place of the old 50v lamp. the wago is there because I disconnected the 50v transformer but still needed a 230v for the light fitting above. Its an old machine and no doubt lots of non compliant stuff in there. TBH my money is on the...

    anyone good with lathes?

on my first visit, the 2 pole MCB just visible between the 2 transformers had tripped. on re setting, there was smoke coming from the left hand transformer and again a trip. As the 50v lamp is no longer in use I disconnected the transformer. Operator reckoned it was only tripping after coolant...

Would you have chosen another trade in hindsight?

I was all set to be a mechanical fitter and  started a full year at tech college as the beginning of the apprenticeship at the aluminium smelter. After a couple of weeks doing basic hand skills, filing bits of metal etc they told me I was to be an electrician. No conversation, they made their...

    The ongoing "racist" campaign continues.

Don't know about any tweaking. Up until then the only bible was in latin and only allowed to be read by the priests. King James 'Authorised' it ie allowed it to be printed and available for the common people to read. You can't really tweak the text, original greek and Hebrew manuscripts still...

    The ongoing "racist" campaign continues.

Actually it is and has been proved to be historically accurate. There were many collections of writings, and yes things like the 'Gospel of Thomas' gets wheeled out to try and disprove Christianity from time to time. The fact is the early church fathers who put together the books of the bible...

    The ongoing "racist" campaign continues.

subject matter aside, for now. why has no one, not on TV in the media or anywhere, condemned the masses of people for breaking lockdown rules. No meeting in groups of 6 or more and 2 metres apart. Everyone at those protests should be getting a hefty fine. Or is that racist?

    New telly advice .

I bought my LG 50 inch plasma from Richer Sounds. the deal is 10% of the purchase price extra for a 6 year warranty. as my previous  Hitachi TV only lasted 3 years I decided this was money well  spent. As it happens TV is over 9 years old and going great.

    Is there a better way?

TV aerial is bolted on to the garage and comes in next to sky cable. Sky is the sky + box not q so not feasable to feed aerial into sky box. Just interested to see whats possible. already have another sky box and a multiroom (£12 a month) subscription so not paying sky any more money!

    Is there a better way?

Would probably need 20m long under floorboards and then through a 2m length of 25mm pvc conduit with a spring formed 90 degree bend then clipped around the garage woodwork. Quality not paramount nor is stereo sound. Its just a mancave with exercise equipment. How about switching between sky/ aerial?
