    Exterior flood light for security.

Was thinking the same but just wanted to double check before I remove the old one for good 😎

    Exterior flood light for security.

I currently have an old flood light that doesn’t work right above 2 exterior decorative lights that pretty much light up the garden from dusk till dawn. Was contemplating swapping old flood for new led one. Would this be a daft idea as I already have lights? Am I better off just doing away with...

    Slight twist in cable

Thanks for the piece of mind. The length of the cable from A to B is straight it’s only the part from the bottom of the wall to the joist that has a slight twist not a sharp twist.

The pic is just an example of how cable looks under the floor.

    Slight twist in cable

Hi I’ve recently ran in some twin & e cable for lighting circuit and at the last part to pull up through the floor the cable had a slight twist in it. It isn’t badly kinked anywhere or hasn’t got any sharp twists. For piece of mind is this safe?

    Heating wired thermostat

I’m not sure don’t know much about them. I’ll settle for the wireless one I have atm. Was wondering if the 3 core would be enough for it in the future if I wanted one. If some only need 2 then that’s good to know 👍🏻

    Heating wired thermostat

I tested the cable between the old thermostat and supply spur and identified that it’s the same cable. Would that 3core t&e be enough cores if I decided to fit a smart thermostat at some point in the future?

    Heating wired thermostat

Just identified the cable from the above switch. Both cores in term block with earth still attached 👍🏻

    Heating wired thermostat

Could the cable possibly be coming from here and not directly into the old boiler

    Heating wired thermostat

Now have this with wireless thermostat with no signs of old thermostat cable.

    Heating wired thermostat

I couldn’t tell you sorry, when we moved in a new one had been installed the previous year.

    Heating wired thermostat

Also can’t visibly see any disconnected cable around where my new boiler is. Maybe it’s been coming out from a hole in the wall right behind the boiler position?

    Heating wired thermostat

Hi just wondering if anyone would know where the other end of this cable would be (3 core t&e only 2 cores being used) for the heating thermostat, at my old boiler position disconnected as there’s no power at the thermostat end? I have a new combi boiler which was installed before I moved in and...

Running lighting cable under floor boards

Sorry in this post I’m not asking about running cable through conduct. Do you have an answer to my reply to this question? I’m just looking for advice for piece of mind if I’m not using conduct is it safe for the middle section of cable to maybe be a little on the ground but with either end of...

Running lighting cable under floor boards

Would same apply to a cable from lighting circuit the same as it would a sky cable, clipping where possible with a chance of it being on the ground at parts?

Running lighting cable under floor boards
