    The Russians are coming!!!

You two could share a room. Ikea does good bunk beds... :D

    The Russians are coming!!!

The argument for building a bunker gets stronger and stronger. I’ll make sure you can have a room in mine. It’s gonna be a pretty big anyway on the basis that if I’m gonna have to put up with WW3 and/or a zombie apocalypse I’ll need a walk-in wardrobe and a kitchen looking like an old school...

    The Russians are coming!!!

Hello you :)  long time no see and all that. I’m still spending my days in holes, have you been officially crowned as Surpreme Ruler of the Forum yet?  :P

    The Russians are coming!!!

Reading that I realised that I’ll never fit all the stuff I need to be a true prepper in my flat  :C . Shall I just start looking for a suitable location to build a full on nuclear shelter instead...? :)

Under the heading " Never Assume" Please feel free to add your "Never Assumes"

Never assume that just because you leave forumites unattended for a couple of months they turn into sensible, mature adults. :P

We'd have to get an interprator, because I really don't speak geordie.  Don't worry about what deke says, I won't put you in a viking boat. Flying is just so much quicker these days... :D

    Meter box question

Thanks :)  No major job as such, just reasonably busy plus my upside down hobby has kept me occupied. And I've been substituting TEF for Tinder, probably not one of my best moves...

Never assumed that just because the 5th core is dead when you check it it's not in use.  Also on the subject of what the opposite sex says, never assume that just because you're agreed to go on a date with a guy that he won't come up with a ****ty last minute excuse and bail out.

    Meter box question

I'm still here @Evans Electric, just had my head stuck firmly down a joint hole for the last few months  :P

    Cable spiking

I get to hear a lot of stories from groundworkers about cables they've hit in the past. Every now and again someone will tell me that they've "hit one, and it went bang and we thought it was dead but then it went again and again" and what they've hit is a HV cable on a bit of network that's got...

    Cable spiking

Naaah, I'm too attached to my eyebrows.  Did you watch the rest of the video? I can never decide if it's a good or bad idea for me to watch stuff like that.

    electric meter question

Here's a picture just to make it even simpler. @jp2003 in your case WPD is responsible for the blue bit. If it's just a case of getting an isolator fitted it's a quick job.

    Get yerself a trade son

It's really, really hard to get an apprenticeship. When I was getting towards the end of my 2365 I was looking for an apprenticeship and must have written to over 30 companies in my local area. Out of those I got 3 replies, two who said thanks for asking but we're not recruiting at the moment...

    London today

Phil, it's too early to start pointing fingers. Our thoughts at this time should be with the victims and their families.

Running SWA Cable Under Concrete Footing

Same in my area Deke.  Which reminds me, I heard the water board applied a squeeze off on a bit of electric main the other day thinking it was a water pipe. I can't imagine that ended well.
