    Consumer Contracts

Yeah the new legislation is a 12 month period. Been advised to include on the T&C's text that says 'by agreeing and accepting these T&C's you waive your right to the 14 day cancellation period'. Apparently that stops any legal recourse.

    Consumer Contracts

Just been advised that as of 13/06/2013 new legislation comes into play which affects (along with lots of other businesses) anyone selling services. Now, we don't use contracts, always having done things the 'old fashioned' way - a verbal agreement and handshake and to this day, after 7 years...

What Sizecable And Which Consumer Unit For A Tt System

TT systems account for circa 99% of my domestic work and as a standard fit we use 30mA dual RCD C/U's, 10mm earth and 4' earth rods and regularly see Ra readings of 20 ohms - 190 ohms. Only once have I had to install multiple spikes (4 to be exact) due to unknown subtrate giving higher than...

    The Heat Is Always On!

I won't fit anything but Aico. We achieved Aico accreditation recently (which means very little but does get us work!) and to be fair, I like their range and haven't fitted or found anything as good in the last 10 years. Of course, it is all personal preference.

    Anyone Heard Of This Company?

Hahaha I would say no chance of that. Googled them expecting some nasties but nothing. Surely they can's have mugged off companies all over the capital without anything appearing on the net?

    Ltd Company

A good accountant will give you the best advice. I pay the directors of the company a salary of £675 a month (tax free limit) and then the rest is dividends which are taxed at a rate as low as 10%. Last year we paid corporation tax (a tax on the company profits) but paid no personal tax. It is...

    Ltd Company

I went Ltd 3 years ago. Big tax breaks and the right accountant won't charge you a fortune. My first accountant tod me his fees for the year were £2000. He lasted a few weeks and my current guy charges me £480 a year and does payroll, vat, directors self assessment etc etc. If you are going to...

Yup, we closed for the day and looks like we will be closed Monday too (Gloucestershire). Anticipated it so was an easy call to make. Just spent the morning bombing around in my Landrover admiring the idiots who have taken their lives into their own hands and got stuck. Just seen an 80 grand...
