Ours is Miele so that's not happening, anyway ours trips their rcd as well

All it tests >299 m ohms

To be fair, only just took a look at the rating plate and its got a metal earth pin on the plug. RCD only seems to trip as the Dyson is turned on 

Ok  No IR as yet as wanted to completely discount dyson before IR test but no other appliance inc washing m/c, dishwasher etc trips RCD. Dyson has now been run at mine with no issues apart from me pushing it around rather than my wife. Dyson is class 2 so can't leak

Gas pipe under floor to meter, rubber hose with metal running through it. House is pre first world war semi detached with floating wooden floors so air gap under,  Downstairs is fully laminate floored so thats not coming up!
