1: What is the power factor of a circuit with a capacitor connected in series, given the resistance is 6ohms and the capacitive reactance is 8ohms ?
a: 0.75ohms leading - My answer?
b: 0.75ohms lagging
c: 0.6ohms leading
d: 0.6ohms lagging
2: A capacitor of capacitive reactance 5ohms, an inductor of 8ohms inductive reactance and a resistor of 4ohms are connected in series to 230v 50hz supply. the total impedance of the circuit will be?
a: 50ohms - no idea how to work this one out.
b: 40ohms
c: 5ohms
d: 4ohms
3: What is the total impedance of a circuit with a 4ohms resistor and a 10mH inductor
a: 4ohms
b: 6ohms - Not sure how to work this one out
c: 5ohms
d: 7ohms
4: What is KVA of a load given that the true power is 100kW and the reactive power is 75KVAr
a: 150KVA
b: 200KVA
c: 175KVA
d: 125KVA - my answer but not sure the formula for it
