Hi all, been to see a customer yesterday who amongst other things wants some LED cabinet lighting installed into a display cabinet in thier hallway. A previous workman has helpfully (or not) installed a cable and left it hanging out the wall, so Im going to have to terminate this i was thinking into a switch fused connection unit.

What i cant decide is whether to go with 12v lights (there are four shelves, so would need 4 strips) or whether its possible to get 230v LED strip lights? The cabinet is one of those Ikea make yourself jobbies with a thin hardboard back so not a million options for mounting.

Im also thinking about heat, Ive always beleived that LED dont get hot like traditional lights do, would 230v LEDS be the same?

Any thoughts? would be most appreciated

I've fitted some Knightsbridge LED strips, they used a driver and had a 1m link wire
