I have 2 Luce appliances, and I'm told the handbooks are written for the European market - really useful. The pyrolitic oven handbook says it is 3.4Kw but the plate says 3135w, The handbook also suggests it should be connected via a plug and socket, but with a 16A MCB protection.

The combi microwave and grill is 3.4Kw. Neither appliance comes with a plug, but both pre-fitted with 1.5mm cable. I have a cooker switch/socket into which the existing double oven is hardwired, this is a radial with 45A MCB, 6mm cable. I'm wondering if the 45A MCB can remain, and a dual appliance cooker outlet plate can be fitted with the 6mm cable connected to it, to hardwire both appliances into.

(I have had conflicting advice from qualified electricians on this).

Cheers

I personally would not be happy putting those appliances on one circuit. One way of getting over it would connect cable into a two way consumer unit in a kitchen cupboard with two 16 amp MCB's one for each appliance. Welcome to the forum.

thanks and thanks! That sounds like a good solution. Can I ask what it is concerns you about having both appliances on one circuit?

Cheers
