how much do combi's draw I was thinking very little less than an amp?

Yes ,theres no reason why not . A combi usually has a 3 amp fuse. A lot of sparks will have a problem with this , and obviously its not the best way of doing it but no different to the timed extract fan really.

I have to agree , I have when limitations have been in place taken a supply to a boiler from the local lighting circuit.

Normally I like to have a dedicated boiler supply but not always practicable.

as long as the circuit can take the extra load, then no problem. not really much different to taking it from a ring main
