4mm in a 2.5 ring

Is it ok to have runs between sockets of a 2.5 ring in 4mm was on a job today where I have come across this. It looked like someone has added the 2.5 to a radial when adding to extension. Would the best solution be to seperate them bring back to CU seperatly.

4mm is used if 2.5 cant for derating factors

I don't see any issues providing where the 2.5 is there no de rating applicable(insulation) and that the length of the 2.5 wont affect the volt drop or the zs of the ring.

So If I do a loop test when I go back on Friday and it comes back ok leave as is and rectify his dodgy connections.

you sure it's 4mm and not imperial cable?
