Ring round local colleges & see if they've any places left on 2330 courses (most courses have just started but if numbers are low or people drop out you might get in).
Have a look at the contractor page on this forum & the "contractor look-ups" on the NICEIC, ECA & Napit websites for local contractors then write them letters asking for a chance or some work experience. Follow the letters up with phone calls after a couple of days.
To be considered fully qualified (& JIB graded) you really need the level 3 NVQ, which by next year will be combined with the college work & exams to make the City & Guilds 2357. You will need to be working in the trade to complete this qualification.
